Had to change rotor today took everything apart and put back together 7x. I cannot get the hub cap to go all the way on. There is about a 1/4" gap. Looked at other side and axle iis pushed out greater than the side i am changing. I have pulled the axle out as far as i can get it and there is still a gap. Please help me very frustrated.
I put the gears back in lockin nut washer etc then when i go to slide body assembly on it goes in but i can see old markings and its about 1/4inch out. I took the passenger side off and the axle is sticking out about a quarter inch more than the drivers side. I tried pulling axle out and it pulledbut still stops short. One thought was my jack location since its split axle but i lowered the jacm and axle didnt move. It is automatic 4wd.
Im not sure all of my friends that have knowledge are lost. Would you drive a big truck if you a gap there sounds like id just ruin stuff but its tempting cause it might be fine. Mind you I live in Hawaii lots of hills and.curves dont wanna wreck
Start over again.
Are you talking about the front or the rear.
A hub is only on the front.
Is it 4 wheel drive?
If you replaced bearings likely the new bearings are not fully seated.
Give some clairity to what your doing.
We don't have crystal ***** to see with.
Its the front drivers side. It is automatic 4wd. The outer bearing fell out when I took hub off. I placed it back in and tightened nut. Im sorry im only an amatuer. Is there something I needed to do to bearing. Appreciate the help.
