9" axle retainers

I have a 9" rearend under my 74 4x4 truck and currently the alxe bearing has froze and the retainer slid off. and I looking for a nex axle retainer. I have looked at bronco graveyard and the retainers are all flat. The one i have is cupped out. are they suppose to be flat or cupped out?

The ones I have seen are all flat except for the last 1/2" near the axle in a circle, and that is rounded out to about a 1/4" deep at the axle.

Thanks for the info,

The ones that I have cup out about a full 1" are those made for something different or just the way the old ones were made.
