I'm new to the ford diesel and recently bought a 2004 f250 6.0. Truck has 169,000 miles. The guy I bought it from said the egr had been deleted and it had a new inter cooler and oil cooler. On the way home climbing a hill it blew off the boot that goes to the inter cooler to the Turbo. Not the one on top the bottom one. Took it to a shop purchased a new boot. Prior to that the check engine light came on. Code p2262. Driving fine and runs great no smoke and plenty of power. But light still on. Do I have to reset it or should it go off on its own?

I think that is "no turbo boost or pressure detected". You can look in the tech folder, go to service manual. It has most all codes listed. You will have to have it cleared. I use my tuner to read and clear codes.
God Bless & good luck

Should I be concerned or did it throw that code because I limped it off the highway with it off. Also have a ticking sound on the right side of the engine

It threw that code because of the Blown boot

Now it may reset itself after so many drive cycles without that problem
Or you can go to an auto parts store and tell them you want the codes read and use there code reader to shut it off
Honestly the shop that did the repair should have turned the light off kinda did that job alittle half a$$
If they was professional they would have turned it off I guess stuff happens
