Three weeks ago I had my 2004 6.0L Excursion at the Ford Dealer to replace the Oil Cooler and the EGR Cooler. Not Cheap by the way......
Immediately after the work was done and I drove it around I got a P0611 Code on my Edge...I cleared it and every week since then I clear it and it pops back up. I was hoping that it might clear once it cycled through. I have put on about 500 miles since the service was done.
Question....is this possibly related to what they did on my truck?
and....
What does this code actually mean? Truck seems to be running just fine.....
Is this something I need to take back to the dealer or should I drive it a bit more to see if the code clears itself??
DTC Codes are listed in the 6.0 tech folder...that code relates to FICM performance. Hopefully a tech will chime in here with more info for you. Good luck.
P0611 typically means a serious FICM problem or impending FICM death.
Do you know if your truck was flashed/reprogrammed while it was in the shop? I would call the service advisor or service manager and ask him/her BEFORE you tell them of the problem.
