Wow Brent, you are amazing!
I never said I needed it, but i do think it's a useful tool. You obviously would have no use for it because you already know all about the foot going down mileage thing......... But thanks for contributing something valuable to the conversation!
Actually I did, now you can save some time and money. I'm amazed how people think they need things when they don't................I really am, I see it all the time.....don't drink too much. News flash !! The less you step on the gas, the more air in your tires, and the slower you go; the more gas you save.
Unlike some who think the "H/L" gauges are enough, I ran the ScanGauge in my Expy and after seeing this UltraGauge I may get it for the Excursion. The ScanGauge was cool in that you just needed to add the PID code to read the trans temp. One thing I noticed with it though was that it differed from the manual trans temp gauge I ran though the test port in the E40D by about 15 degrees or so.
That being said it was pretty slick, but having 6 To display at once vs 4 is pretty awesome, and backlighting makes it look easier to read in daylight. Plus less than half the cost...not bad!
I also looked at the gauge compatibility...looks like the only diesel gauge limitation is the mpg. But I didn't see anything for EGT or the like, so for the diesel guys maybe getting a tuner with display would be a better investment.
