I've heard of folks using the seatbelt latches to secure tailgates but have never seen it "in action". Nice job. Now if you could only find a blue oval insert to cover up the GM logo...

I like it - I've got the same rhinoliner on the inside of my bed.
It's nice not to have to worry about denting or scratching anything.
I haven't gone through the license plate process yet though I'm close.
I used the jump seat belt clasp from a Ford Ranger. It sure holds the tailgate tight. I had to make an "O.S." key to open the tailgate if, when, the electric solenoid doesn't work on my Tonneau cover.

So just pick up a Ford seat belt latch. One of the few things that I've put on my truck that was Ford. There's a bunch of this style in the salvage yards and they seem to withstand weather very well.
