I'm looking for a way to lock my tailgate. I have a tonneau cover that locks, but if the tailgate can't then what's the point.
I can find a lot of locking handle for 87 and newer but I wonder if I'm the only one who tried to lock the tailgate on older model.
Thanks for your advice.
LMC and JCwhitney don't have anything
Any way you can add an end edge or bracket to the cover to catch the tailgate when the cover is closed?
Or you can add the seat belt latch trick on the inside of the tailgate or use a barrel bolt set up on the inside.
Yes kinda redneck, but there are fancier fence/gate latch set ups.
I might have to fix it the redneck way. I was hoping to find something with a key or something like that. Thanks for the suggestions, it's appreciated.
The idea is good, but I'll have a problem as I need to open the tailgate to get to my tonneau cover latch. Once the tailgate up, nobody will have access!!!
my buddy built a second tailgate inside the bed so all you do is open the regular tail gate then have a bolt lock or padlock holding the second tailgate shut looks normal from the outside, it would add a layer of security as well.
