My 2010STX has the tailgate step and handle. I actually use the step quite often, but the handle is always getting snagged on materials i slide in the truck. I pulled off the factory bed liner cover for the tail gate and it seems to me that with 6 blots removed i should be able to take the handle out. My real question is has anyone here done this and can you use the access cover from a non-handle tailgate to cover up the void?
sure, people have been doing this since the 09's came out. try over on www.f150online.com, I know there's threads with pics on there and they should have the part numbers listed too that you need.
I like my handle but see what you mean....my biggest problem with the handle is it freezing in cold weather and I can't activate it without using a deicer....
I told the wife that I was going to take the stripper pole off of mine and she flipped out about me 'ruining' a brand new truck. Geez, you would've thought it was hers... Bottom line is that I put it on the list of future mods once I get a couple years under the belt. She'll forget by then.
