Yes you can as long as you add a inline filter to the mix. I guess your exsisting pump has the cannister on the bottom with the filter? If so those are at the parts store as well. But like most newer pumps the cannisters are crimped on and almost impossible to remove without damage. Just be sure the new fuel pump arm is the same as the old one on the truck. I have seen some sell small block pumps for big blocks and the arms are a bit different where the ride the eccentric. As far as those numbers your seeing go are they on the fuel pump or the engine somewhere?

BTW new filter cannisters can be bought from most of the popular mustang/ford vendors. Dennis Carpenter, Mustangs Unlimited etc......

You might be seeing a casting number or date code on your block. Or perhaps a rebuilders stamp. A picture would help.

Depending on the year of the block........casting numbers are on the side of the block. Date code is below the oil filter adapter on a small angled part of the block. They can help you date the block but for the most part not ID it as CID specific ex 360-390-428 etc..... Casting number on the block would be this type of number C5AE-6015-H. Date code on the block say 5J12 for example type of numbers. There's a little more to it but that's the basic concept. I'll explain more and decode your numbers when you can get a pic. As the ones you posted sorta make sense but not completely correct.
