c6ae-6090R heads

im looking for a set of street heads for my 390 build. i plan on running a rpm intake and mild cam . ive came across a set of these c6ae heads that have been rebuilt. i am running sanderson shorty headers. does anyone have good info on matchng headers and or intake to heads for this engine? I heard that these heads are close to CJ but i dont think it matters if the matching isn't correct?

If your looking for the tall port heads..You really dont "Have to use C6-R's...you can use the early C1 , C2's and the C4's are fairly easy to find also.. I think even the newer D2 have the tall ports...with some professional port work..If you have the Jingle..a good porter can get them to flow around 300cfm at .700" lift...Of course thats with CJ size valves installed in them... This is all If I recall right..Its been awhile since I have been into my FE motors.. Good luck on your project and keep us posted !

All the D2/C8 heads have the shorter port, but this is really nothing to pick over. Ford simply filled in the wasted area in the port floor(ala medium riser 427) in designing these heads. If you'll look at the port on a "tall port" head, you'll see a sharp jump, upwards just inside the port opening on some of the ports. There are no "bad" FE heads. Run what ya brung.
