It had tick on driver side. I am deaf so I been depend on 2 guys listen though screwdriver they can't find but if you put finger on #4 injector while it idle. It knock HARD so that mean it tick?
It happened after ran low on oil so they refill with amsoil 15w40 synth.
NO POWER and very extremely sluggish I had see. It had snowplow and salt spreader it feel like you drive nonturbo.
I test HPOP and % duty. Highest I see 2700 psi with 41% in econ on TS 6 position chip. Performance it was 2500 psi with 45%
Scanner show boost low. They install wicked wheel to cure turbo surge.
They say mpg were 10 most time. I told them get new intercooler boost they look bad.
Won't pass buzz test it say all 8 injectors high open on side. I did ohm on all injectors it was around 3.0-3.3 OHM.
Fuel filter housing were OMG it full of brown mold goofy on bottom. Alot water inside since metal fuel filter were RUSTED.
I am thinking it bad computer because it won't pass buzz test and I can't get reading on cylinder balance verify it just blank.
I'd say get that brown crud/rust out of the fuel system. get some good fuel/injector cleaner in there. may have to start in the tank, clean out the fuel system, if the fuel system does not put out, your exhoust will not beable to make that turbo spin.
If I was in the owners shoes I would start by pulling the fuel tank and cleaning it out with a biocide. Then before putting it back in do the Hutch and Harpoon to the tank. I'd disconnect all the fuel lines and thoroughly blow them out with air then pump biocide into the fuel lines (use a clean small tank with D2 and biocide mixed, start the truck up and let the fuel pump pull the clean fuel w/ biocide out). Then you have to let everything sit for about 8 hours to kill off the fungus/bacteria all the way to the injectors. That crap will destroy (if it hasn't already) metal surfaces (in particular high tolerance surfaces like injector plungers) due to the acids given off by the organisms metabolism. The water was the breeding ground for that crap. I can't stress it enough, if water is allowed to stay in the system and there is but a trace of the contaminating organisms, he will be right back to where he is now. Put the vehicle on a biocide preventative maintenance schedule for awhile after the vehicle problems are straightened out. After getting the fuel system clean, then I'd begin tackling the other apparent problems...but the failing of the buzz tests would give me pause to go look under the valve covers at the harness and to see if the injectors are squirting oil.
I had forgotten that a mold like life form could grow in the fuel, I was thinking it was just rusty crud. Thanks for pointing that out. Thats why I suggested starting at the tank and cleaning EVERYTHING.
Where would I find biocide? I think superior turbo shop in Detroit don't had it.
I will call couple places to find it.
It ok to use in fleet that had no algae? After saw that brown crap sure scare me to think do I had those in my F350 now or not. Last week I check it clean spot no crap sit on bottom.
On other question
Does it common for IDM go bad but still running? It running but not perfect. Drive had no power.

I have 2000 gallons of fuel on site and we go threw around 6000 gallons a month and I treat it with a algecide. I was concerned about which vehicle would have fungus growing in its tank. I found out after treating it for the 1st time. It showed up in the form of clogged fuel filters. I treat the main tanks a couple of times a year. But water is the start to the whole problem. Keep the 2 apart and no growth.

Powerservice makes some.... As I and someone else have said already: keep water out of your fuel and you will not have to deal with this problem (why I have a water stripper before the fuel pump).
your 1316 code means cheak the vavle cover harness its not always the computer, the wire conector that connects the glow plugs and injectors likes to come apart a little cuasing the code and if the truck is hard starting cheak that look up 50 cent mod on here or on powerstoke org there is a vidio on that subject there far as your turbo pressure low problems and not detected cheak your map sensor and also clean your evbp tube for how to do that guzzles ford psk is great info site also powerstrokehelp.com great too ,hope this helps you out
