ABS light
I had strange thing happen yesterday started truck up ABS light was on and has i was starting trans was shifting funny gone about 9 or 10 miles stop got fuel started truck back up ABS was out and trans shifting fine any idles what was going on

So on my 93 this is what happened to me, after replacing the speed sensor in the rear diff and not finding the issue I took it to the ford shop. The tech spent about a week looking though this truck and finally found the wire along the frame coming from the speed sensor had a break in it where it had been attempted to be repaired before. Any ways check out the speed sensor in the rear diff, it is about the size of a film canister and is right up on top.

well don't under stand what this will have do with the ABS light. Like i said once the ABS light went off trans was fine how does the 2 tie in getter
Does ABS work all 4 wheels or just the front ?

ABS is only rear on these trucks. Hence the speed sensor on the rear diff controls the ABS. If I remember right, your 94 has an electronic speedometer which is also controlled off the same speed sensor on the rear diff. The transmission probably takes a signal from the speedometer/speed sensor which also affect ABS as its the same sensor.

Yeah, what tecgod13 said. The RABS (Rear Antilock Brake System) computer needs input from the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) on the rear axle. The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) controls the trans, and also needs input from the VSS, as well as the tach sender, TPS, MLPS, and other data to determine what to do with the trans.

sound like the hold truck run off VSS
Will this be way my tach don't read right. It read right at cold idle at 900 and when it kicks off it reads 200 rpm's and if got down the road it reads and then if put about 10 miles on it it read 650 rpm's at idle or would that just be tach sensor
sorry if sound stupid i just learning the 7.3 I am old 6.2 -6.5 guy
