'91 Explorer, back door won't lock

'91 Explorer, back door won't lock
I just bought it off my friend yesterday and I noticed the back door doesn't lock, the glass part doesn't either. Any one know how I could fix it?

By "back door" do you mean one of the doors for the rear passengers, or the very back liftgate and liftgate glass?

If the liftgate, it's quite likely that one or more wires are broken at the rubber accordian between the cab and the liftgate.

Yes sorry I mean liftgate, do you know about how much to fix it?

If you have some friends/co-workers/acquaintances that are handy with a test light or multimeter and soldering iron, it may be as inexpensive as a 12-pack of cheap beer.
