My front driver side auto door lock isn't working. I thought it was the actuator but I already replaced that and there is no improvement. It unlocks just fine by pulling the handle, but the keypad and door switches don't work. Any suggestions?
Since you just replaced the actuator, I'd assume you've checked the linkages and such but I had an issue with my Explorer in which the silly little rivets that held the actuator to the door had broken, so the actuator itself would move up and down instead of moving the lock ****. If your actuator is fine but it's not doing anything when you push the buttons, I'd check that you're getting voltage and have a good ground at the connector and go from there.
The actuator will usually lock it but rarely ever unlock it. It's getting voltage. It acts like it's just not powerful enough to operate the mechanism. It unlocks no problem when pulling the interior handle, but it is difficult to unlock with a key. Is it possible that I need a new latch assembly?
did you ever resolve this issue? because i'm having the same prblem... and the hatch wont unlock either, i keep hitting the unlock button and it sounds like its not getting enough power like a slow motion compared to when it worked and after about 20 or 30 times i can open the hatch.... but it works when i lock the doors. i replaced the actuaters with used ones and it worked for about a day and a half. i have to more brand new actuators on the way but i'm thinking thats not the problem.... please help!
c'mon please! i have almost $2000 in stereo equipment in my truck and need to be able to lock and unlock doors... it sucks locking my doors going into the grocery store knowing that i might not be able to get back in when i come out with a cart full of fresh produce..... :-(
Have you tried manually locking the doors and unlocking with the key? Do they seem to bind?

yes.... when i go to unlock the drivers door its like its turning nothing its very easy but if i move it back and forth fast while pulling the handle it opens after a few seconds. the passenger door moves back and forth but does nothing.
i dont understand how it would work for a day after installing used actuaters and then quit right away again.... like that guy said it sounds like there not getting enough power and its not just one door its all of them including the hatch that sticks....
I replaced the latch and the actuator and then it worked just fine. I'm not a mechanic at all, but I found some very helpful videos online for replacing both parts and just followed their instructions.
Apparantly, there is a spring assisted mechanism in the latch and the spring gets weak or broken over time. Then, even a new actuator won't work it properly.

If using the key does not always work, and doesn't feel like it's moving anything, the issue is not just actuators. It sounds like some of the linkage is not connected correctly. Maybe the reason it worked after you installed different actuators is because you had the linkage connected, but not securely or the issue is out of direct vision of the actuator. After a few operations, the linkage worked its way out of the plastic connector/tab and it stopped working again.
I'd suggest you pull the door panel and inspect all the lock and latch linkage with a good, bright light.
dang.... i worked on the truck for 5 hours today taking out the back seat and installing 3 amps a capacitor and a coupld fuse blocks and a splitter..... still not done rewiring my dvd player and equalizer so i guess while i'm finishing that up tomorrow i'll pop the plastics on the doors and check it out again... new actuators wont be here until the 13th. i'm tired of this repair project and stereo installation already. i'll let you guys know whats going on tomorrow after i take a good look... maybe i'll do the spring quick fix i saw, but then how does that fix the back doors or the hatch? what do i have to get to get the hatch to open properly again its been 3 days and i cant get in the back at all no matter how many times i hit the unlock button
