Milage question.

I know this is pointless to try and figure out but just curious if there is something unique about my truck. I was riding with a friend the other day and we were running 75 and 80 and we reset the lie o meter and it said we were making in the low 20 mpg's. If I do this in my truck I will show in the low teens. His truck averages 15-16 average and mine makes 10.8-11.9 mpg's. Our trucks are both cc F350 4x4 duallys. His manual and mine is a bts auto. Both trucks weigh within 200 lbs of each other. Both 3:73 gears, but I'm running 285's and he runs 265's. His truck is bone stock with a bts chip I got for him when I had my tranny built. Mine as you may know has stage 1 ss, 38r turbo, and live tuning by DP. What gives? Also my throttle acts very much different to the rest of the powerstrokes I have driven. My throttle takes more movement to come off of idle. The percentage starts moving as soon as you move the pedal but the idle validation switch doesn't activate till 5-6% above where the pedal rest. Most only take 1-2% off of rest to come off of idle.

If you have a dually (as your avatar shows, I think), you have 4.10's...at least I am pretty sure you do (mine does). Of course, if he has the same gears as you, it's a wash anyway.

My truck has a "dead spot" at the start of throttle application also. I have grown accustomed to this and really don't notice it until I apply throttle "very" slowly. My old pedal assembly did not do this. I have been tempted to reinstall my old pedal assembly and see how my throttle reacts throughout the pedal range and monitor the TPS voltage on both. I originally replaced the pedal assembly in an effort to rid a surge at cruising speed. It seemed to help, but I don't know if this was the real underlying problem.

Don't get me started Neal! As hard as it is to belive both of these duallys have 3:73 gears. Swear by it. And it has been seen by others. Even had Rodney want to trade at rre!

Remember the gtg at ricks and Barney was there? I even tried one of his brand new pedals and it acted the exact same way. Even put my pedal on his truck and ricks and on there trucks the pedal starts to respond immediately. I've wondered if a resistor could of been installed or bad ground or connections. But it is always consistent. And I've never seen anything unusual in the harness.

I do remember that now. It's funny that mine changed with the pedal and yours didn't.
