Marinco Mod
I'm planning on doing the marinco mod for my block heater cord but I don't want to drill a hole in my bumper. I would like to put it in the lower trim piece on the drivers side, any suggestions for extending the cord as it won't reach the drivers side wheel well area. What gauge wire is the cord 14 or 16?

I cut a foot or so off an old and damaged extension cord I had lying around at the female end. I hooked this up to the Marinco plug. Then I plugged my block heater plug into the extension cord and wrapped it water tight with tape.
I've found out since that a few others have done something similar.
My cord was a 12/3 contractor grade.
