This will prove to me one of my most practical mod I have done to date during the winter months.
I installed a weatherproof flush mount plug-in in the bumper. Its made for boats and have a 15A rating. I purchased it from a boating store and it ran me around $23.
Yes a very nice upgrade to this mod would be use an auto-eject plug I have seen on Firetrucks. Turn on the key and it spits out the plug. No more driving away with your cord following you!
I like, am getting tired kneeling down to unplug block heater then securing the block heater plug so it does not get soaked with water or snow. Nice mod.

I'm sensing someone had an experience they would like to tell! LOL
Actually I have only dragged the cords out about 20 feet or so. Thats why I use a nice bright yellow cord but I also wrap it around something solid so I don't rip the wall plug out!
Maybe you could do this on the front of the bumper instead of the side so the"wife" doesn't rip out the wall. LOL That is if you have to back up to get out. Also use a short cord.
