Gotta question.
When cold and in stock tune, truck will not go anywhere, no matter what I do to the go pedal. If I change to any other tune, it takes off, but not perfect. As in takes a while to get up to speed.
I just put the DP Tuner in a month ago before it turned cold out. Runs fine in any tune, once warmed up.
Could this be a tuner problem, wastegate, etc?
Its for the truck in my sig.
You might give Jody a call, but I know he builds his tunes so they are not full power till the oil is warmed up. You should be able to drive normal though.
[quote=ToMang07;11242149]An EBPV wouldn't totally kill your power... just make it drag azz.
But that is what I am thinking... I would still give Jody a call.
How cold are you talking? What are you using for oil? How old is your fuel filter? No CEL or flashing O/D light? [/quote
48 F today. 26 F this morning. Did this problem in the morning, and 8 hours later after sitting this afternoon.
Rotella 15w40. 150 miles on oil change.
10,000 on fuel filter.
No CEL or flashing OD light.
Bought the truck new and have never had this problem.
If your EBPV is engaging it absolutely will not sound like a normal idle. It will sound like a jet engine with a very noticeable hiss. Also, the EBPV will not effectively "disable" the truck. It will rob a good deal of power to be sure - but it will still "go." Assuming things are working correctly and it is the EBPV, then tapping the break peddle should disengage the EBPV.
Ha.
Just got a call from Jody.
He suggested that I don't have to warm up in stock tune.
Just use one of the other tunes. Tunes only at about 30% power till oil temp is warmed up.
Super nice guy to talk with.
