im close to getting a dp tuner for my truck along with bigger injectors but im worried that doing that will ruin my tranny. ive been hearing from some people that if you take a tuner out and put it back in it sometimes causes the tranny to crap out im worried that doing that will ruin my new tranny that i just spent 3000 dollars on. any advice

I dont see how removing the chip and reinstalling it could cause any tranmission issues...
I think those people are misinformed, But then again I killed 3 tranmissions in the past year.

I think what they mean is putting a tuner IN will (contribute to) kill a tranny, lol! (Cause YOU are gonna ROMP on it!)
IDK about DP tuner, but I know many of the custom tuners modify shift points. I have a PHP chip in mine and LOVE the way it shifts, great power curve and crisp shifts!
Dp tuner will improve how the trans shift do to increase line pressure and how and when the converter locks. You will love the firmness and also how fast it shifts compaire to the stock programing. You won't be dissapointed on DP!!!!

How do they increase line pressure? I didn't think you could do that without changing the valve body.
I'm not a tuner so I don't know how they do it...you can call Jody or another tuner and ask them. I just got live tuned on Wednesday and Jody made my trans shift much firmer and faster then it did before. He does it right there in the truck with you. I'm sure someone will chime in and answer your questions. That's what will kill a trans real fast... Adding more power and not have any trans porgraming.
There is a line pressure modulator valve in the accumulator valve body that has a piston in it that increases spring pressure applied to the line pressure regulator via pilot pressure from the electronic pressure control (EPC) solenoid.
The 3 pieces on the left of the picture make up the line pressure modulator (the small spring is part of a reprogramming kit). The spring and valve at the right make up the line pressure regulator.
Well guys if I'm wrong please correct me.... Don't leave me hanging.
I wasnt disagreeing with you at all Kuppa. I know a chip can raise the line pressure electronically, and I have talked to jody on the phone about lowering mine, he did back my line pressure off a bit when he last updated my chip.
I was just curious about the mechanics of it, and what exactly the chip adjusts to change the line pressure.
I like to know how things work.

Now that makes sense to me.
I would still think that the change would be most impacted if the valve body was changed... I would think manipulating the time the solenoid is open/shut would still be limited by the stock valve body.
