2000 7.3 turbo

Was wondering if it is possible to put a 2000 turbo on a early 99 without changing thei pedestal? Also will the early 99 spider work with said turbo?

You will have to change the pedestal, up-pipes, spider, new boots, and I would change to a 17* HPOP. There may be more, but I've never done this before.

If you put the e99 compressor housing on the late 99+ turbo then it will bolt in place... But you'd have to put the e99 exh outlet on also because the ebpv arm is too long.

Is yours bad. How so. Did the compressor wheel hit the housing.

The early and late turbos are the same except for the compressor housing/back plate and exhaust outlet. If you want to swap that you can to get by but it will just be the exact same turbo you have. Did something get eaten up or are you trying to upgrade?

Here is what all is needed to update to a late 99.

Yes I am getting ready to up grade, I have about all I need, got the pedesdel, turbo, intake, up pipes and Y, 17* HPOP just waiting on a spider. Oh got injectors out of the 03 motor I just put in my truck. How about the down pipe, guess I will need one or cut mine and extend my old one.

Was just wondering if the turbo would fit my old pedesdel.

Downpipe should be fine. It's only about 1/2" different in length.
The e99 pedestal won't work with the late spider. It's too short to get the geometry right for the longer uppipes and the intake spider.
Are you in a real cold climate where you really want the ebpv to work. You can pick up a blank pedestal and exh outlet fairly reasonably priced.
Look in classifieds for a pedestal or ask around.

Don't forget all the small stuff like the later pedestal bolts, and spider marmon clamp.

Clay what is a marmon clamp? Is that the clamp from turbo to spider, I should have that and I should have the bolts also. I do need the boots from the spider to the intake.

Just a little history as to what I'm doing, back in June my motor lost a cyl and I didn't have the time to rebuild the motor. I bought a complete 03 motor, uppipes, turbo, HPOP and all, with 112,000 miles that been in a truck that was in a building fire. As I was needing to get my truck going fast I took everthing off my e99 motor and put it on the 03 motor. As alot of the alum parts suffered some sort of damage I tore the 03 motor down to a long block and put the 99 parts on, and now after getting all the spare parts cleaned up I am planning to upgrade my motor.

The marmon clamp he is referring to is the v-band type clamp on the turbo-spider connection.
It sounds like you have most of the items. Just need to figure out the little things that may have gone missing or you didn't get.

Back to the turbo question.
To use the 2000 turbo on your 03 motor with e99 items....
To use the turbo as an upgrade to larger intake plenums you'll need the
99+ intake plenums
99+ intake boots
Spider
Marmon clamp (as clay called it)
Late turbo
Late pedestal
Uppipes
Y pipe connector from uppipes
New compression donuts
Clamp from y to turbo

While you are upgrading I'd suggest the
Plenum inserts
High pressure ic and spider boots
IAH delete plug (e99 don't have heater wiring I don't think)
Turbo oring install kit

Things you can get now or after the upgrade
Frx
Hpx

To use late injectors in the e99 you need a chip to account for the splitshot injectors and that they are bigger.

Im sure I missed a bunch of things. Others will correct me when they get a chance

They are split shot in Early 99 as well, just 10cc smaller.
