Question Borg Werner removal

How the heck do you get the shift linkage off of a borg werner 1356 m ated to e40d. I need to fix the gasket between the trans and the transfer case on a 92 f250. I cant get a socketon it the main linkage mounting bolt (1" I think)there is no room to turn a wrench can I remove the linkage bar if so how?

I think I usually go from the top on those, but then I've only pulled them as part of a larger build that required pulling the tunnel cover.

IIRC the linkage barjust has a rubber bushingona pin, get behinditant pop it off. And the gasket between the 2 is more of a dust seal then anything, if you have atf leaking from there sounds like the trans output seal may be leaking, is the t-case overfull?

Yeah, the linkage bar has rubber bushings that push over pins on the T-case & shifter. Lube them up with WD-40 & pop them off.

No it wasnt over full but recently my wife blew up a u joint an droveon itfor 50 miles. The first thing I noticed was that the rear shaft seal on the transfer case was leaking so I changed that then notices three seal on the front drive line was leaking just a little. And what o thought was a cardboard gasket was leaking in between the trans and x-case was leaking so I am trying to get to it to fix it. Is there a shaft seal on the back of the trans like on the drive lines?

Sweet worked like a charm! My first time removing the x-case, so exciting! 84-6.9 you were right it was the seal on the back of the trans shaft housing causing the problem not the cardboard gasket. I assume that it was from the excessive vibration from the u joint busting (dont ever get the u joints with out the grease zirk) I've got all new seals for the x-case on the way.
