Turbo
I was wondering if anyone has heard of a turbo piston, a local diesel mechanic, was telling me that on these 6.9s and 7.3s that when they are turboed that I need to run a lower compression piston,due to premature rod or bearing failuer,because of the high compression these engines have,it does seem logical. also where would I find them? Thank You. Mudguts.

The only turbo piston I've heard of is for the factory turboed engine, that have a larger wrist pin. That would not affect the compression. These motors will stand a turbo just fine with the lower boost numbers like the factory ones used. When boost is increased the pistons are milled down. Dave S took .040 off the top of the pistons when he built his engine, to run over 20 lbs. of boost.

Im running 21psi out on the road and I have stock compression...I do have studs that are massively overtorqued though...
I milled .080" off of NMB2's (1badb2) to lower the CR, so thats as close as you are going to get to a "low-compression" piston for an IDI...
