i used those on the collectors and they leak. I tightened the bolts so tight that threads stripped on one bolt. Like I said before, My truck is a truck, It sees way more miles in the gravel, rocks, mud, water, and snow than the pavement.
I had headers on my 79 F250 4x2 460. Sounded great but I was replacing the starter like twice a year. It also had true duals and glasspacks. I really miss my dad's truck!
Sounds like a band aid, but some of the larger industrial deisel manufacturers (Cumminsis one I believe) dont even use exhaust gaskets. They use a high-temp silicone sealant. I would be pretty confident that if you got the right stuff this would aid in sealing. I would also suggest that the flange is either too thin (very probable!!) and very likely warped
