I have now done 2 separate oil changes using the Ford 820S oil filter, and both times oil came streaming out of the filter. I have a 2010 5.4 4x4 KR with around 29K miles. The filters that leaked were bought at Walmart. Both times during each oil change I had to run out and buy new Ford 820S filters. The ones that did not leak were bought at Advanced Auto. I have been changing my own oil for 35 plus years and know what I am doing. Luckily I caught the leaks right after both of the oil changes. Has anyone else had this problem. I now keep 2 filters for each change.
You say Ford filters.
Did you mean Motorcraft?
You say the oil came streaming out. From where?
I would check for a gasket that got stuck to the filter mount.
Have used the Mototcraft FL820S filters from WalMart on both of the past F150's with 5.4 motors. Like shorebird said look closely for the old gasket to be stuck on the adapter. Also watch for the filter being cocked when installing. The 2009 seemed to like to cross thread or **** slightly.
Yes I meant the Motorcraft filter. Also the old gasket was removed before the install. The leak was from the gasket area.
There is an old gasket in the mount.
You may not have left it but I'll bet it's there.
You've done two changes on an '07 so I'm thinking you bought it used.
Take the time to examine the mount for a old gasket.
Doc I have never had a problem with a Motorcraft filter from Wally world.
I have been buying them there for my Fords (4 currently) for decades.
My 2 cents.
Walmart received a bad batch of filters.
Pay the extra bucks and buy from Advanced Auto as they worked.

What do you mean by "bad"? How did you come about this info? I have also bought all my FL820S filters from there and in 4 changes so far have not had any problems. Please clarify whats bad about them so I know what to look for, thanks!

Since they are leaking I would assume the seal! It is very well known that Walmart tells their vendors what they will pay for an item and if they don't want to make it for that price than to bad. Therefore the vendor lowers the quality to meet the price.

Making assumptions with NO experience to back them up will bite you in the rear.
If you think that Motorcraft makes a filter for Walmart that is different from their filters sold to other vendors you need to prove it.
Motorcraft does not make their filters any different for Walmart as they do for anyone else. Walmart may have gotten a bad lot, but so could have Napa or anyone else. I have never had an issue with Motorcraft filters from Walmart. Walmart gets a better wholesale price because they buy in such large quantities.
Motorcraft has their own reputation to protect and won't risk losing that to make a few pennies.
I always changed my own oil in my 2010 F150 with the 5.4. Always used the filters from Walmart and never had a leak. I am leaning towards cross threading the filter on. It seemed like every time I had trouble with the filter not wanting to start on the threads properly. I always went slowly making sure the filter would just spin on and never ever had a leaky filter. Changed every 5K miles.

Motorcraft (or maybe WalMart kicked them out) actually pulled their goods from WalMart about 9-10 years ago because they wouldn't bend. I'm not sure what transpired to put them back on the shelves, but there was a period of about a year where you couldn't get Motorcraft products there.
There is no difference between the ones sold at WalMart and anywhere else except the WalMart ones are usually about 10% cheaper. If there is any difference in the products, it is so slight that I've never noticed. Yes, it is true that some brands do make products specifically for WalMart, but I'd suspect it is primarily with higher dollar items. It doesn't make sense to do so on a $4 filter. You just accept the lower per item margin and make it up in volume, which WalMart is very good at.
I have never had a problem with an 820S (or any other filter on any other car/truck I've owned) except for one time when a cheapo filter (part of my Ford dealer's "economy" oil change) left its gasket on the mounting surface. I put on an 820S after about 2 days because of the startup valve noise due to the cheapie filter's bad anti drainback valve.
I would suggest:
1. Check the mounting surface on the filter mount for old gaskets or any other debris, flaws, etc. Wipe of off clean with a rag and make sure it is flat and clean.
2. Visually inspect the gasket on the new filter to make sure that it appears straight, uniform all the way around, and not cracked. Oil it lightly with a drop or three of new oil.
3. Make sure the filter is screwed on straight; if you are able to see the sides of the mounting surface, make sure the distance between the filter gasket and the filter mount is equidistant all the way around the filter sometime before the filter makes contact.
If it goes on straight and clean, I have no more ideas as to what the problem might be--any possibility that the filter mount has a crack anywhere?
