Oil Filter Leak

I have an oil leak at my oil filter. How do I stop this from happening? Do I need to use a different filter? Tighten it more? I am going to change the oil tomorrow and would to fix this problem while doing that. I would love to have a clean oil filter when I change my oil the next time. Thanks, Mike.

I use the k&n oil filter 6001. It has a 1 inch tightening/loosening nut built into the bottom. I also put a light coat of oil to make it seal better.

Mike, I have had the same thing happen to me. Make sure the old 0-ring comes out with the old filter. Lube the new gasket with fresh oil and don't over tighten the filter.

Engine Oil Filters

you decide.

for the price in my opion, you cant beat the wix (or wix made) filter. try and avoid the gimmicks and the advertising. buy quality.
