Here is what I could find out of the factory Ford service manual for a 2000 F-350. These were for the Dana axle. If you have the Ford axle let me know and I can pull those too.
This is the info I have from my tags
Small tag- 41-10 4.10
Large tag- 4. 10 VYC35 UA (The V is closed on top)
V606226 - 2 LS ( again the V is closed on top)
Jeff good job on pulling up specs. I'll have to save this info. Reps to you.
Richard, Are you reusing old hub bearing ? If so I hope you are replacing the hub seal. I too have a DRW / Dana80 and when I did my rear brakes I didn't replace bearings and had problems setting rear hub nut. Because after setting the torque on rear hub you should be able to turn the hub with no more than 20lbs/in of torque or force. So I ended up and contacted Spicer and they said spec on rear hub should be 0.00-0.05 end play on rear hub and 20lbs/in to turn hub.
(I guesstomate that 20lbs/in is about 2fingers to turn hub???)
So long story short I ended up with on Rt Rear 0.07 end play/ 30lbs/in turn and Lt side 0.02 / 20lbs/in And I checked the rear 10k later and Rt side is now at 0.11 and Lt is the same at 0.02. So my Rt bearing need to replaced sometime soon.
So if you can double check them with dial indictor it will also help you to keep track of wear.
By the way I dig your truck. I like all your running lights
I am needing to revisit this old thread,,,,.....WOW time flies BY this was back in 2011. I have a vibration coming from somewhere in the back of the truck and I am sure that at 230k it is time to do replace hub bearings & races. I am surprised they lasted this long.
Also I think my driveshaft is in need of some love. Actually I think it is just the carrier bearing but if I am going to drop the driveshaft I think I'll do u joints too. Which if I am going to go that far I am going to have the driveshaft balanced.
