Check your framerail under drivers seat. Have someone close the door and key it on. Your fuel pump is there. If it's singing, you may have other issues.
Is your oil topped off?
Where is your fuel level at?
Check your pump first.
Odd but happens, check fuse #30 under dash and see if it's blown. That's for the fuel bowl heater. If it's popped, reach down below and behind the fuel bowl and unplug it, then replace the fuse. You don't need it.
Also check the cps, it's a 10 min job, always good to keep OEM spare if that is not the issue.
What diagnostic equipment do you have? Numbers will help so we're not launching buck$zooka rounds blindly hoping to hit somthing…also there should be a big warning sticker about not using either to start the truck…I suggest you heed the warning before the truck is turned into a paper weight…
Ether and diesels are not a good combination. It can be done, with minimal risk, on equipment WITHOUT GLOW PLUGS.
With glow plugs, they can ignite the ether, without regard to firing order, ignition sequence, injectors firing, etc.
Sort of like Godzilla stepping on your camshaft- all the lobes are driven down at once Of course, the camshaft being very strong, it's often the "other" things pushing them, like pistons, push rods, rings, cylinder walls, valves, rockers, springs, etc that take the real beating. None of it good.
If you MUST diagnose with ether, unplug your glow plug relay/wiring, depending on your model.
