I dunno if this is a dumb question but Im gona ask it anyway, the small drag link (the arm between the pitman arm and the steering knuckle) are the ball joints removable? mine are totally flogged out and need replacing.
Chad - if your F-250 has manual steering, you can buy the whole drag link and replace it. If it has power steering, it gets iffy. There are shops that will rebuild your original power assist unit, but it's pricey. Is your's manual or power assist?
Its manual, thanks, the problem Im having is I need to modify it....but im gonna scrap that whole idea and go with a cross over set-up, next problem is its right hand drive, does anyone know of a kit/idler arm thatll suit left and right?

Thats if you have power assist... 6 for bendix type and 4 and 5 for garrison.. be sitting down when you look at the prices.. EDIT opps didnt see the post above.....
Ok, Iv started making my own, just incase you guys didnt realise Im in australia, I priced up the northwest fab kit, but the frieght is killer. what pitman arms will suit a 2x4 75 box? I could order one but Im trying to get it back on the road before newyears.
Iv been reading heaps of info on these forums, and you guys seem pretty clued onto this stuff, very helpful!
73F250highboy - I have the LMC catalog that you linked to, and that page is confusing. For a 1975 F-250 with manual steering, they show the picture of the drag link (#4), but the pitman end is oriented incorrectly. My '75 pitman arm has a horizontal bore, and the one they show is vertically bored. I kinda think there are several errors on that page - the part number for the pictured drag link (#4) is 45-2418, but it's listed as a center link. The part that they call a drag link (#2 part #45-2037) looks suspiciously like a tie rod to me. . . The local parts store wants around $145 for a new manual steering drag link.

You will have to get the right side steering knuckle machined for a steering arm, it won't just bolt on.
