I wonder if the drive shaft is out of phase, I think Charlie said clocked, anyway the U joints have to be in the same direction as each other.....that is a 2 piece drive shaft eh???
Wonder if steeper tapered block's would help. I am not sure, if the lift kit has different block's for different body style truck's. (a factory f350 crew longbed will have flat bock's, where a reg cab will have tapered block's)
Ya know.... I don't know. I bought this truck the way it is. What I can tell you is that the back doesnt sit as high as the front but I wished it did.
That's what I thought. Originally when the carrier bearing was all messed up the driveshaft angle much def off. The only thing I am thinking about now is the u-joints being binded/messed up. Otherwise, I'm at a loss.
Ya you might be onto something, pull the drive shaft out & check the U joints by hand, make sure they aren't loose or siezed........then make sure the 2 shafts are in phase, G
It dduz look a little steep at the transfer, and after further looking, without seeing it in person, it look's like the pinion is high. like maybe the carrier is too low. again it depend's what pictures you look at. Doe's it vibrate loaded?

"Loaded?". Ok here's what's going on. The vibration wasn't as bad with the "bad" carrier bearing. I had the carrier bearing replaced today and now the vibration is about X10000000 worse. Therefore, either the carrier bearing was hiding a nasty other secret (ala u-joints bad) or it's something else.
P.s. To your original question..... I haven't had a chance to LOAD anything in the truck. The vibration is bad enough that I am not keen on driving it... I drove it home and that's it. I wanted to take it back to the shop but they closed up and went home by the time I got back there.
Well if the carrier is shot it will allow the drive shaft too move with the joint's, that is if they are out of whack. A new carrier bearing would MAKE the joint's (if at a bad angle) take the abuse, causing more vibration's and faster vibration's. The Ujoint's should be checked out, as they may be south of the border too.
You should see what the guy's in the superduty forum say. Post this with your pic's there. Alot of fella's running lift's there. (More ppl too see this.)

I posted up in the super duty forum too... thanks for that suggestion. I do have some new u-joints and stopped at autozone on my way home earlier to get them just in case. I've never replaced any before, however, it doesn't look like too difficult of a job to do. I realize that I need to mark/index the driveshaft.
Try and keep everything lined up, everything. From the tailshaft, to the pinion. Spray everything down with penetrating oil in advace, a good wirewheel on a dremel too clean rust outta the ujoint hoop's, and E-clip slot's. They can be pounded in and out, but a press makes life alot easier.
Sorry, benn like a chicken with his head cut off this evening. the angles don't look real bad in the pics. If you want to squeeze in new joints, that's not to bad to do https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...a-u-joint.htmlI'll try to give you a call tomorrow. And we can toss some ideas around.

If I have time tomorrow I'll change the U-Joints. I will have my 6yr old son tomorrow and will be chasing him around so I'm not sure I'll be able to get ANYTHING done.
