Also forget to mention that I got the new stereo (Eclipse AVN62D) installed. Double DIN with Nav, etc. Also wired up the bluetooth (Parriott) and it works GREAT!

Here's a pic:

Next up that I have to install:

Can't wait to see what the lights look like when installed :-)

Thumbs up

UPDATE as of 10 minutes ago: New carrier bearing is in. That's good news. The BAD NEWS is that the truck is NOW vibrating WORSE than previously.

Anybody that can help me get this straightened out I'm begging you for your help at this juncture. I'm extremely frustrated and have no idea what to do next. Before the new carrier bearing the driveshaft would move up and down quite a bit and is not moving around at all now which is the way it's suppose to be. I've taken a few pictures of the driveshaft ... please someone help me.

I've attached a few pictures to see if that helps or not.

and from a different angle hopefully to help:

Thank you,
-Tim

I STILL say that the angle is too great. Now the new bearing is in there, there's no slop and until you ruin the NEW bearing, it'll be worse. You HAVE to lower the angle to be correct.

How do I lower the angle? Shims where the carrier bearing is? I'm at a loss. I've also been reading that it could be the U-Joints binded as well? Does it look like the angle is too great by looking at it or ?

The truck wasn't ever designed to be run with that much of a lift.....that's the only answer I can reach. I saw it in person, remember?

Yes sir I remember :-) But I also remember when the carrier bearing was all kinds of jacked up the driveshaft was definitely not sitting any where near close. As I look at it, it's almost like it's just about straight as it should be hence why I'm asking all these questions. Again, when I look at other folks with similar lift (6-8") with issues like this they either point to: carrier bearing, u-joint bind, or wheels/tires. I have ruled out the carrier bearing (but possibly not the pinion angle portion) and the wheels/tires portion I think.

No worries just frustrated. LOL. Reminds me of my race car days...... fix one issue and uncover another. If I had been smarter I would have just had all the u-joints replaced today while the shaft was out --- would have been a lot smarter.

I may need to see it in person, the carrier bering back in the picture dosn't look as extreme as the transfer case to the carrier. might just be the picture. Do you have a side view of the whole truck? Are the ujpnts clocked properly? how about a picture of the ujoint at the rear"

I wonder if the drive shaft is out of phase, I think Charlie said clocked, anyway the U joints have to be in the same direction as each other.....that is a 2 piece drive shaft eh???

Wonder if steeper tapered block's would help. I am not sure, if the lift kit has different block's for different body style truck's. (a factory f350 crew longbed will have flat bock's, where a reg cab will have tapered block's)
