I need help, in March this year I had the same problem and changed the camshaft position sensor, but I can't believe that it is broken again
the problem:
if I stand on an traffic signal or traffic junction the engine shutting down and I can restart it without any fault. But if I drive on the Highway the engine buck but not die down.
it isn't controlled by driving speed or rpm. And "Check Engine" isn't illuminate so I can't check the OBD ...
Do you have a chip? If so it may be loose. Mine does it when I let off the e-brake and slaps the inside of the cab real hard. The engine will stall out then start back up because it was still turning. If you do have a chip plugged into the PCM then pull it and clean the contacts. Put some duck tape or something to hold the chip securely into place.
Make sure all connections to the PCM are tight and secure.
no I haven't a chip.
But I don't think that the connection on the PCM is loose or something else, because if I drive on a bumby street, the engine won't die down so I think there is no loose connection
You may have other issue going on. You can be getting a short from the engine harness (check the harness well, especially by the 42 pin connector on the drivers side valve cover.
Albeit a CPS is cheap, you may want to determine a little more if that is the problem. Codes should be stored if it is a CPS.
I had the EXACT same problem earlier this year. I chased that darn problem for almost a MONTH before I finally sent it to the dealership. My failure was the IDM. You can get one here: Riffraff Diesel: Alliant OEM 7.3L Injector Driver Module IDM
