Window scratches

I am having problems with my windows being scratched up by the anti-rattle rubber. They are old and have broken in places. I will buy new ones later on but I want to get rid of the scratches on the window that are caused by them. How can you get rid of the scratches?

Ya I have the same problem in my 81 but mine are too far gone. My dad was telling me about using some wax and it kinda worked and helped when I got new felt/anti-rattle pieces.

I am open to some advise.

There is a polish system you can get. I've seen it advertised and demo'd on Trucks! or TruckU or one of maybe Stacey Davids show, something like that. I'm sure googling might find you something on it. Maybe some place like Eastwoods would have it.

The only true way to avoid this is either keeping the windows clean at all times (pretty much impossible) or keeping the windows up.

If you can feel the scratches with your fingernail, forget about trying to polish them out. 0000# steel wool does about as good as anything as far as "improving" the look. Cleans more than actually fixing anything.

I got the same issue with mine to, I was also thinking of doing the same thing either using like wax or a polish, whatever you do let us know how well it worked.

When I worked in a windshield distribution warehouse we would often get scratched windshields. We would polish them out with some kind of a compound, little it of water, and a buffing wheel on a drill. worked very well.
