So if he calls they might be able to give him a time frame as to when it might be available.

At any rate it does answer the question, "Is there a company...?"

(On edit, I missed the side bar, just saw the bottom notice)
And I missed the one under the video--props on finding the answer. I would do the conversion if cost wasn't a factor. I can count the number of times I've used the vent on one hand.

For 92 and up trucks with the paddle mirrors, you will need to do something different with the mirrors since the inner brace would be in the way; maybe an Aerostar type mirror that attaches to the front of the door.

Please shoot me. The little vent windows are one of the very best features of this truck. If you want a clean look, get a modern truck. Heck, get a modern truck, french the door handles and headlights, chop the top. Or better yet, just buy that ugly Honda thing.

(sorry, drinking beer - real opinions come out!)

X2

One the best things about these trucks is the vent windows. No way I would ever consider getting rid of them.
Hell I might not ever buy a truck newer than my 97 because I love those windows so much.

Yeah, it's a lot of money just to downgrade.

I'm not real sure ....but I think that the 97 model year Ford truck was the last vent windows in ANY American made vehicle. (Heavy duty trucks being an exception.......My '01 Freightliner Classic has them!!!!)

One-piece door windows suck...

After many years driving experience, I have come to the conclusion that the quarter-window vents that used to be standard on most US vehicles are much superior to the one-piece windows that are almost universal now.

The beauty of the small adjustable vent windows was that the side windows could be rolled all the way down and the vent windows adjusted to provide nearly silent air flow, and nearly free of turbulence, and leave the air conditioning (A/C) turned off. Today it is very uncomfortable to drive at any speed over about 20 mph with any side windows open more than just a small crack. It is almost a requirement to run A/C when the outside air temperature is above 45° F, and you want to go faster than 20 mph in a quiet environment.

I remember well that A/C was truly not a necessary option except maybe for the hottest months of the year; July and August in much of the US. I was fine without A/C in Southern California, until my new 1977 auto came without the vent windows, and in short order I found it necessary to have after-market A/C installed.
