any opinions as to quality. I picked up a 17500lb smittybilt snatchblock for $47. looking at also getting the36k model. F350 CC LB 4x4 with a 12k warn winch. local shop wants 250 for a 24k warn block

Yeah methinks that while the warn stuff is good to, it like john Deere or peterbilt you pay for the paint an the name is

I'd be willing to bet neither Warn or Smittybuilt make their own ****** block.


I'd be careful doubling up that 12k winch with a 17.5k ****** block unless you live in Floriduh where straps/chains/cables don't pop sending one of two ends into the face of ignorant bystanders.

Well I agree with you there. My plan is to use it where I just need to change direction or to get more line off the spool. I found myself in a situation the other week where I was pulling at nearly right angles with only about 25 feet off the spool

New what do ya mean. I have been around winches and lifting winches for 20 years. Just my winches aren't so tiny. 1.5 inch cable. And 20-40the ton mobile cranes. Its this tiny hobby stuff..........

I hear ya. Im getting soft in my old age.


Im a crane operator/mechanic myself. 25 and 40ton overhead bridge and trolley cranes mostly. A few 8-10 ton monorails and 5 ton jibs also.
