new truck small problem
Just bought new truck 2001 7.3 transmission does not seam to kick down from d unless you manually shift into 2 also after about 20 secounds of start up the of light starts flashing please help.

The flashing light means there are stored trouble codes for the trans. You need to get the codes pulled and go from there. In the meantime, make sure the fluid level is OK. I don't want to alarm you, but if you literally "just" bought it do you have recourse with the seller? Large or small, you may be in for a repair bill.

The notorious steering column short blows a fuse and takes out the instrument cluster and throttle. It happened to me. If I understand the OP correctly, that's not his problem.
