Rear Disc Brake?

I installed rear disc brakes, My question is do you leave the distribution block in and add a adjustable pro valve? Or do remove the distribution block and just run the pro valve? Ive read on pirate4x4 to remove dist. block and just run MC lines direct with adjustable valve . Thanks for any help

It's your call whether to leave it in or take it out.

The distribution block doesn't do any metering. You can leave it in and simply plumb the adjustable prop. valve into the rear brake circuit.

if you had a metering valve i would definitly remove it just because it will put pressure on the back almost constantly. any pics on the swap? its always good to see how others done it.

sorry no pics, (dont now how to post either) I just bought new 84 k20 calipers, rotors and bolt on caliper brackets from ballistic fab. The distribution block is an aftermarket one from Broncograveyard, I bought that before I decided to run disc in the rear. Im thinking I should just remove the distribution block and run direct with adj. valve?

I have done discs in a bronco and my F150 and I have adjustable prop valves in both.... The bronco was originally 4 drums and needed the adjustable valve in the rear..... The F150 didnt and that was disc front drum rear.... If you want to do this on the cheap put the rear discs on and then bleed the system and try a panic stop.... If the rear brakes lock before the fronts do.... Then you need the valve... A lot will also depend on what calipers, rotors and pads you use.

That's the job of the residual valve in the master cylinder.
