Question

ok i need to do an oil cooler swap..... i really want to do the BPD setup but i have to save... right now i have 186-190* coolant and about 225* oil.... do i have time to save up and run a coolant filter for a while or are my oil temps too high? what is a max temp... if i must ill just replace the stock one with a new oem one but id rather just save the money and do the other one... im on fresh oil and a fresss coolant system flush... so i dont want to waste the oil and coolant either....

ive heard the motor will defuel at a certain temp...???

also what is a list of **** you need to do the cooler swap.. gaskets orings kinda whatever it takes to swap one out... is there a thread of a write up?

Becareful you have the 05 what has the Square EGR Cooler and they just dont take the heat very well

Watch it close if your going to drive it you run the risk of blowing the egr cooler or worse blowing the oil cooler
Get a coolant filter on it and flush its guts out

I ran mine at a 25* spread for a year after I found out the spread but I also had the round egr cooler and its gut are tuff the round ones already have guts like one from BPD

but I gave it a year only like 5000 miles with the coolant filetr on it and then flushed again right B4 I changed the oil cooler out

so far so good

check it out theres some pics in my album of the oil cooler cut in half keep in mind it was only a 25 degree spread but almost plugged solid

oh ya I forgot

I cant remember who has what

I think you should be able to this time of year its cooler

You have a better chance since the EGR Cooler is gone

but keep in mind you are playing with Fire so to speak

and since the egr cooler is gone may give you some time but if that oil cooler pops its a big mess you dont want

the 6.0 will defuel at 253* EOT 221* ECT

There's no telling when/if your oil cooler will blow. One thing we do know is you'll have a hell of a lot more work to do if it does. All I would say is you should fix it as soon as you can.
