problem
I was walking by my truck about 5 mins ago and heard a vibration coming from under the hood. I opened the hood and it was a pump vibrating. The pump is behind the passenger side battery. Anyone knows what this pump is for, and what the problem is? I unhooked it and it stopped vibrating. Thank yall

That is your vacuum pump. It should vibrate. Perhaps it has come loose and is making excess noise against the fender.

So even with the truck off it should vibrate? The truck had been started today. My dad's don't.

If the truck is on the pump will still work even if the engine is off.

What caused it to start vibrating? I never heard it before.

It will runs quite frequently. It provides the vacuum for ESOF and HVAC.

If you want ESOF or HVAC I would say so. Just make sure that its securely fastened if you're worried about excess vibration.
