Smog equipment delete

I put headers on my 460 equipped 95 F350 and now the A.I.R. pump doesn't hook to anything and just makes a ton of wind noise under the hood and I want to remove it. I don't want to go through the BS of removing the pump itself since I just got done putting a lot of stuff back together under the hood but I want to remove all the emissions garbage that isn't working anyway. My question is, do I just cut the lines at the pump and cap them or will this be too much pressure for the pump? Or should I just remove all the lines and leave the pump so I don't have to buy a new Alt. belt since mine is only 1 week old? Will leaving the pump intact with no hoses going to or from it still be as noisey as it is now? What should I do that requires the least amount of money and the least amount of time? I can't be bent over my lifted trucks engine bay for too long or else my old back injury will start acting up so I want to make the modification as quick as possible. Any thoughts would be appreciated. You don't have to have experience with the same size engine, just the same Ford A.I.R. pump setup for your advice to be worth while.<!-- / message -->

id remove all the hoses coming off the pump. The pump wont make much noise because the engine is loud enough that you wont hear the pump over it. id assume it would be no loud then it is normaly working and you can always remove it down the road.

Thats what I plan on doing. I figure that maybe the wind noise from the pump is so loud now because it is being pumped out of small diameter hoses. Maybe if it is just coming right out of the pump it won't be so loud?

They do make a pulley the you can replace the pump with and get a lil more economy out of the truck in gas savings. Keeps the belt the same.

There is an intake and exhaust muffler for the air pump on the passenger side inner fender that you can connect directly to the pump to dampen the noise it makes, then just remove all the other plumbing and cap the vacuum lines on the TAB and TAD solenoids near the coil but leave them electrically connected.

Any chance you could post a picture of what you are refering to? I know about the plastic noise dampers but I don't know about the vacuum lines on the TAB and TAD solenoids. I know where the solenoids themselves are but I don't see any vacuum lines near them.

Your 460 equipped truck may have them in a different area on the engine.
