I have a 66 f100 that I drive with a granny low 1,2,3. It has a slip splined removable rear yoke. Is this s T-18?
Next I have a 64 f100 that has a np 435. I have never drove this truck . Would it be like a granny low in first gear too or not? This tranny shifts alot tighter and just feels better. Do you guys think I should switch them out? Regards ...
The easiest way to tell which transmission is which is the shift pattern... Location of reverse specifically... NP435 is over right and back towards ghe seat. Warner is over right and forward towards dash. T98A was the ONLY 4 speed Warner trans used in 1964 F100/250 trucks. Its warranty plate code is F, the NP435 code for 1966 F100 trucks is A. Warner T18 was also used alongside the NP trans. The Warner trans code on the warranty plate is F.
Good to know camper but the 64 someone swapped out the original 292 3 speed.for a 223 4 speed on the floor. Do you know if both have the granny low first gear? Thanks
1964 F100: Someone swapped out the original 292 3 speed for a 223 4 speed on the floor.
1961/64: The only 4 speed available for F100/350's was the Warner T-98, same shift pattern as the Warner T-18.
1965 was the first year FoMoCo offered the New Process 435 & Warner T-18 for F100/350's. T-98's were only installed in P Series Parcel Delivery's after 1964.
