'59 f100 trans code F ??

My 59 F100 says it is supposed to have a 223-6 with a 4-speed on the floor(original hole still there). I am curious as to what kind of 4-speed???? My shop manual says it should be a Warner T-98A. Are these tranny's hard to come by?? Can I still find one?? Is the 4th gear a granny low?? I bought the truck with a '65 240-6cyl in it. It has a 3-speed that is on the floor, but the shifter is way too close to the seat and very cumbersome to drive. Will the 240 bolt up to the mentioned 4-speed?? I also picked up a '63 223-6 for $50 (heard it run!!), but it also has just the 3-speed. I know this sounds like I'm asking a lot, but I need a little clarity...(sanity)!!!!

Scroll down, he makes one with a forward top mount shifter.

You would want a wide ratio. No low first, these are hipo car trannys, would wake up that 240....

The other trannys you are talking about are still around, with the low 1st and grand canyon spacing on the remaining 3 gears.

T-19 I think would be the application. Browse or search here, lots of posts about that.
