Strange lighting issue

I had to take the truck out tonight to move a sofa and table to the house of a friend of my wife. She takes off before me as I warm the truck up as it has sat for three hours after my parts hunting. Have parking lights on to watch the gauges and then turn on head lights to leave and have no drivers light. Ok, into the garage for my stash of GE 6014 lamps and put one in. Works fine but my dash lights do not come on now at all! What is up with that?

Maybe a fuse went check there first.

My dash lights have gone on the fritz twice in the last couple of months. Both times pulling & pushing the headlight switch back & forth a few times fixed it. Cleaned the contacts? I don't know, but I'm sure glad I "fixed" it & they came back on.

I'm telling you jst repalce the headlight switch now or you'll regret it later !!

Thing is it is a brand new Motorcraft switch straight from Ford.

Did you try and disconnecting the headlight you replaced and see if your dash lights work?

Maybe the molex connector to the switch didnt get plugged in all the way.

Fuse fine like I expected and checked the connector while looking under the dash. All looked fine so I am of the mood to go the hell with it. Works one minute and then 10 minutes later it doesn't and it is not as though I have the time to spend on this when I have more immediate issues with other things.
