Here's another question for y'all. Anybody know of a truck junkyard near them? Found this place, but Sioux City/Omaha is a long drive. Guy is looking for a set of Eagle emblems from an international Eagle (See attached, IF I remember to paste, on the front fender by the bumper). Word Eagle spelled out.

For a small part like that, could the place mail it to him?

There is a "big truck" yard a bit east of Springfield off I44....someone chime in with its name, cause I can't remember.

Don't know if they would pull & ship something that small. Tried looking for some little stuff around here a long time ago & they said "We don't have it" without even bothering to check. Not enough money in it for them I guess.

I'll ask my friend. He's an OTR driver. I'll see if he can stop somewhere and steal them off of someone's truck while they're sleeping at a truck stop.

....but seriously, I'll ask him to keep his eyes out.

'Afternoon everybody!

I got the trailer loaded up with scrap. I about killed myself getting the fireplace insert out of the house and on to the trailer. It was so rotten, the doors wouldn't even open. The sucker still weighed close to 400 pounds, though. I hope to have a prosperous Monday.

Best of luck at the scrap yard Alan!

I've got 2 of the 3 big jobs I wanted to get done - done. Oil change took longer than it had to - the kid handed me a quart and I dumped it in before I noticed it was ATF instead of oil. Fortunately I caught it before I fired it back up. Nothing like having to dump 7 quarts of new oil... Oh well - as much my fault as anyone's - I should've double checked the bottle.

Well - time to go winterize the camper. It looks like its going to be cold for the next few days.

Thanks Alan. P.M. sent. Tell him to grab them from a company driver, not his truck. Probably won't even notice they're gone.

I cut the dent bed up into three pieces. (too rotted and twisted to save) The fireplace insert Tiff and I got out together. I used pipes and my two wheel dolly to roll it out the door. Then loaded it on the dolly to get it to the trailer, then jacked it up and slid it on the trailer. The engine I got from Bob from the cavalier was broken down enough I just picked it up and carried it to the trailer. I feel ok now, but I have a sneaking suspicion tomorrow will be a different story.

...and here's the icing on the cake! For weeks my steering has been doing fine. As soon as I try to back a trailer into my driveway, it goes out again so I get to block traffic in both directions on hwy 125 until I wrestled it to the drive.

I give up with this dang thing. I'm looking for a friggin' manual box!
