Well I thought that I had fixed it, then the wife said when she was driving it she hit some pothole and the tach went out and it went into limp mode. Obviously there is a bad electrical connection somewhere... I just have to find it.

Unless anyone else has any advice?
the most common short location for the tach is right at the tach sensor.look for bare/rubbing wires there to start.
we're way off from the original question of this thread though.it would be best to start new threads for new questions.
Hey guys. I need your help pls. I have E4OD trans. It stalls at red lights and when put in D. I changed filter and fluid. (Filter came out w pan) no change. Found stripped wires on shift connector like pic in this thread. Waiting on part now. Don't think it will fix my problem though! What should I be looking at? Solenoid pack? Tcc? Tc?
Um. I do believe you are in the wrong forum. This is for IDI diesels (83-94 diesel-powered trucks and vans) and the vehicles and systems surrounding them.
Your '95 F150 will no doubt be different than any IDI-powered vehicle.

I am aware. I have an E4OD transmission and mark seems to know a lot about them. So I posted here.
You have every electrical code for the transmission. Either everything in the trans failed all at once, or something happened to the wiring harness going to the transmission. My bet is on the wiring harness.
I did start a thread in the 87-96 f-150 forum b4 replying here.
Ok. That's what I thought. I've already ordered a replacement and also a clip for the filter just to be on the safe side. Harness should be here today. I'll let u know how it goes.
Do u have any tips on accurately reading the trans dipstick? Not sure if it's the same on all AT, but on one side the fluid is all over. And on the other it looks like I can get a close to accurate reading. Am I going off the one side?
No. Not entire harness. I guess I should have said replacement connector. I just bought the male end plug that comes with the heat shrink wire connectors.
