Things were tough back then, the stamps would help some families i guess............
Things are tough today too for some families.........
Things were very tough when I was little. As I got older the family business became more successful, but collecting the little stamps became just as important to Mom. Like so many families of the time, we were a one-income family. Collecting the stamps allowed Mom to "buy" things and feel that she had earned the capital that paid for them. That was one of the life-lessons that stuck at a very early age....
There was other stuff you could get with the green stamps too. I can remember my mom having the S&H catalog out looking through it to see what she could get with her stamps.
Lots of people have them.
They come in a variety of sizes.
For some strange reason, a few people get really excited by them.
But in reality they are practically useless for their intended purpose.
