transmission help

what transmissions came with what year trucks? i think i remember looking mine up and i thought i had a 4r70w in my 95. im just wondering because i was looking at shift kits but then when i found out about the punisher valve body i got interested. especially since their not much more than a shift kit. the punisher valve body says its for a e4od though?

any help? my trucks a 1995 supercab flareside, 5.0, auto, 4wd. ill look for my code tomorrow for sure though.

Yep i got the u code. I guess no punisher valve body for me.. For the 4r7ow do you all recommend a shift kit from b and m or a valvebody? What about other mods for it?

With the 4R70W, forget about a "shift kit" and read up on/do the J-Mod.

ive been reading up on the j mod and their seems to be alot of controversy on it. some say it leads to tranny failure in the trucks do to the sperator plates and valvebodies being different in the trucks.

what about the factory tech seperator plates? ive read alot of good things on those.
