It would be awesome if someone with the ability to measure EGT's could do an unloaded test at various speeds say 65, 70, 75 and 80 mph and report what kind of EGT's they see. Flat ground and no wind would be ideal conditions. I would also be curious to know how ambient temperatures affect EGT's.
On a side note, does anyone know if the Torque Pro (OBD 2 & Car) Android app reports EGT's and soot levels?

There a re a few EGT sensors that you can watch but I have not found soot levels yet and I have to admit I have not looked to hard.
I have tried to do multiple tests on EGT's with additive, without, and combinations of everything. Its almost imposible in real world driving as some variable is always changing and messing with the results.
About the only thing I can prove is less regens with Optilube XPD, and that is based on getting more miles per regen when using it than not. But I only fill up at Flying J in one area, so someone else might see different results.
I have given up on testing and I use optilube XPD in every fill.
My last order from Diesel Fuel Lube was for 3 gallons and using the TDI club group buy, shipping was only $4.75 for all three gallons.
The closest pyro on a stock 6.7 with the DPF present is at the front of the DPF. The readings off of that pyro are kind of useless to be honest. It's just too far away from the action. Most times I'm seeing 550 to 600F. They cool down way to fast in the down pipe. The information just isn't useful. The only real way to accurately measure EGT is to install another pyro.

Which ODB2 adapter are you using? I tried one of the cheap ones a year or so ago and it didn't work correctly so I returned it and haven't bought a new adapter yet.
I use XPD and also just bought 2 gallons with the TDI group by. The $4.75 shipping is a great deal when buying multiple gallons.

I have bought about 8 gallons From DFL on the group buy. One order was for 4 gallons and it was still $4.75 shipping. My buddies and I keep combining orders.
I was sent a notification today that 5 gallon buckets of Optilube with a pump and bottles is on sale at a price that cannot be advertised at Diesel Fuel Lue.com.
