Yes thanks! It was the chip not making a good connection. Once we took it off it started so I really cleaned the wax stuff off with scotch brite again.
BUT on the way down.. the engine overheated so we pulled over. The chip was at the 70 horse setting pulling my cj7. Was watching the egts and they never really went about 1300. touched 1400 here and there. after we sat for a while I set it to stock and it was okay so then 50 hp and it was decent. Big big hills it would overheat.
ALSO the trans overheated and blew a bunch of fluid out. so i had to add 10 quarts.... the trans gauge was at 210 so I was about to pull over but was too late.. then on the way home it kept creaping above 180. whats with this? My damn 1500 doesnt even overheat pulling the jeep. crapy fuel millage etc but still no trany or engine issues lol
It's no secret that the stock transmission cooler is less than adaquate. Try out an aftermarket transmission cooler. Are you locking it out of overdrive on these hills?
Not sure why your truck is overheating I ran mine for 3 hours today at or above 2500RPM coming home and no over heating problems. My oil temp gets up to around 220* if I stay at around 2700 RPM for more than 5 minutes or so, but that's OK. It drops as soon as I slow down.
Check your coolant and maybe try changing your thermostat.

I have a 6.0 trans cooler I just got but didnt have time to put it in. It seemed to do better IN overdrive then when I'd lock it out. If it reved high thats when everything went to *****. It now has a drip when it gets warm tho. Even at like 150* it will leave a little puddle bellow the torque converter
Yeah Im hopefully gonna change the thermostat this weekend. It never overheats without a trailer tho. But my buddy has the same exact truck just a crew cab not regular cab and he pulled a damn gooseneck that ways 2500lb more then mine with my jeep and no issues last trip.
No I got it from Extreme Diesel performance. And on the directions further down (like an excited little kit i just put it in) it said make sure you really clean the contacts or it will have issues so after I cleaned it she fired right up!
Interesting. Did your motor overheat too? Im just putting a 5spd in it and calling it good. That will take care of that but I gotta figure out the motor overheating issue. I dont really wanna pay for another tune until I have the stage 1's in and done.
