Just installed a gauge pod in the truck with Isspro gauges. Wanted to share the readings I have gotten so far to make sure everything looks ok. These numbers were taken during a 4 hour interstate trip, running 75-80mph @ 2500rpm. I have 24" wheels on the truck so the mph may be 5 or so higher. The truck is a mutt but is mainly 95-97 models put together. And its an f350 2wd dually, 7.3 auto.
My mods are, TS 6 position chip, 6637 filter, trans cooler, supposedly stage 1 injectors by the PO, and an aftermarket downpipe. Used to have 4" exhaust but i lost the rear half of it on interstate a couple weeks ago.
Max boost so far was 19psi
Trans temp has stayed steady at 200 the whole trip (i thought this was a little high)
and EGT's have been 800-1000
Truck is empty and is on the 75hp setting on the chip. Let me know what yall think, thanks
Stage 1's should be pushing more boost than that. I could hit 19psi on chip alone. Did you install the gauges? Any kinks in the line? It's a very noticeable difference from stock to chip to sticks, you should be able to tell. The 200 trans temp is fine. Although with another cooler, it would be better or ideal if you were in the 185 range. Especially empty. EGT's look just fine.

Shop installed gauges, looks fine. Trans temp worries me because i have a 4 hour haul next week about 20k lbs

I know Glenn has a good external setup for cooling the trans, but it's tough to keep these things cool when the motor is running 200*+. That heat will eventually transfer. I had seen about 220* with a good load in the bed of my truck when I still had the auto. Not to say that I was happy about that. Have you flush/filled the trans and changed the filter?

Yep, about a month ago, when my buddy was pulling the wedge back empty while ago he said it was actually cooler, like 185-190. So it couldvd just been from him haulin but, he had it wound out pretty good before he got the trailer

I running the 6.0 cooler but its a bi!ch to get in there between the radiator and ac. Like Todd said, it made my radiator soak up some of that heat so I moved it behind the bumper. I put it up as high as possible but it hangs down to far and makes me nervous. But, its awesome, pulling in the heat of AZ I've seen as high as 190°, its usually runs 175° to 180° at 70mph.
Edit: This is pulling what you see in my signature.
With my tranny's stock cooler on a 96 I can see the 220ish range while towing a travel trailer, especially in the hills and the heat. About the same value as the engine oil.
I put a drain on my transmission pan and keep the oil changed every 20K or so. It's as easy as changing the engine oil now. I change the tranny filter every second cycle.
No problems yet, except for maybe the time I was maneuvering the trailer backwards in a particularly bad spot and after a few minutes of back and forth and a lot of cusswords, the old E4OD raised its hind leg and pissed fluid out of the gasket. After it cooled off, I added fluid and no further problems.
