bum01, dude, i'm LIVID with this noise. Gonna try the foiled tube and 6637 with stock intake tubing, to see if it cures it.

You running a/m intake? Whats weird is, prior to the first turbo blowing up, i had the W.W. in, never made the sound, and i ran the FIPK/6637, BUT cant confirm if the foil delete was after the tubo popping, and i gutted it, since everything was removed..."-banghead

Mine started when I swapped turbos. I had the van turbo in my EX,but wanted the quicker spool so i swapped them out. Since then I have had the howl. Mine sounds like an ambulance kinda. Thaken it apart three times, and nothing. So I was just waiting for something to come apart or pop. Guess I will keep waiting. ????

Only time mine sounded like an ambulance, is when the turbo let loose, broke the shaft, talk about a loud a$$ noise, along with killing mosquitos for a mile...lol

I guess until i get around to it, i'll just keep sounding like the CORONA commercial.

Tim if you have someone around you that's gonna do the foil delete just swap them the CAC tube, if you can't do that get some dyna mat I think it's rated pretty high temp around 250* F min. And wrap it with that header wrap tape! Anything will help you'll be shocked how much it cuts back the high pitch noise, just having the tube wrapped! But the factory wrap is the best for noise reduction

update

This morning, i installed the 6637 with the k/n intake tube, to see if the k/n filter ,was to blame. It was not. So, i drove back, installed the factory intake tube along with the 6637, using a 4in x 4in metal tube, for filter/tube to connect, took her for a drive, to be let down again. I feel that the foil delete, is starting to show its face as being the culprit, as to what "hotrods" been say'n all along. Hope'n my buddy will let me borrow his foiled up hot-side, to test.

Cool Exit, stage left

Wellll...that didnt work. Installed a foiled pipe today, and no dice. Still the same annoying sound as before. Anyone think its is/was possible, for when the turbo went, that being on the gas, that i somehow spun something from within the tranny.(6spd). Seems to be ,in 4th-5th gear, around 1500rpm, that the sound is really present, and if lifting from pedal, it goes away, the second i apply ANY pressure to throttle, its present again, up until 1900rpm....man was i bummed...

FOUND IT......i think.

WIth tranny taking a dump (so i thought), and diff seeing better days, i opted to replace the rearend with a used. Not knowing the 04 axle i scored on, had a different yoke, plus, the damn lug bolts are a fine thread..(99-03 have course), i needed my truck, more than ever. So, i FOUND a 00 axle, with the correct yoke. With tranny on jack, and old axle out, i found what i thought was a bad tranny, but ended up being a blown up TO bearing. SO, new axle in, new TO in, and my 2-piece driveshaft in the garage, i broke it apart, and not having the "blue" teflon lube, I just packed it with marine grease. Put all together, and with new diff fluid/tranny fluid in, i cruised the streets. Not wanting to "get on it", i parked it for the night..(this was last night..9/9/13). This morning ( 9/10/13), i said...F-IT, 6am, time to take daughter to school (45miles away)...good ol' divorce. Anyway, once grabbing 4th-5th....i noticed, NO MORE HOWLING SOUND. Man, should've seen the look on my/our faces. It was GREAT to finally, not have to talk over sound nor radio..(to drowned out the howl)....SO, in conclusion, i can not definitively state what one/s cured it, but from a new/used axle, greased splined driveshaft and new TO bearing, truck sounds AWESOME....

side note.....DAMN EFFIN TWEEKERS, last thursday night, caught me slip'n, and with everything apart, truck on stands, and batteries disconnected, found that my doorlocks were, well, not locked . Got my radio and ripped thru my glovebox and console...Just finished up about an hour ago, installing a cheapo DUAL radio (40 buks) from Wallyworld...gotta have some type of tunes, right?
